Can You Lose Weight by Eating Raw Foods?

Eating raw foods helps to increase energy levels, boost the immune system and get rid of the dangerous toxins from the body. Raw food means fruits, vegetables, seaweeds, unprocessed and uncooked. Foods should not be cooked over 118 degree Fahrenheit to be considered as raw food.  A raw food diet should typically consist of 75 percent raw foods.

Raw foods are a rich source of fiber. They contain vitamins and provide more energy. They don’t contain saturated fats. Cooked foods lose vitamins, proteins, fats and enzymes that help digestion.

Many people resort to eating raw foods to lose weight. People go on a diet of nuts, vegetables and fruits as a sure method to shave off pounds.  It is well known what vegetables and fruits can do to our body.

Raw foods help to cut down on saturated fats. Eating raw foods, improves the circulation of blood, health of the skin and increases energy. It will take some time for the body to adjust to the change in the diet.

Eating raw foods can prevent heart disease, cancer and many other chronic diseases. It can also prevent measles, cold and flu.

As raw foods can be digested more easily, indigestion, constipation and heartburn will be a thing of the past.

As they possess natural fibers in abundance, eating raw foods help to detox the body, releasing toxins, mucus and waste. Eating raw foods delays the process of aging as they contain anti oxidants.

Papaya

Papayas are generally grown in tropical climates. It comes in a wide range of colors and sizes. It is a delicious, wonderful snack that can be eaten any time. If it is eaten on an empty stomach early in the morning it can act as a colon cleanser. It promotes digestion. It is full of vitamins.  It also contains potassium, iron and calcium. Unripe papaya skin contains an enzyme called papain. It is used to deal with problems of gas and digestion. Papaya seeds have anti bacterial properties. They can protect the kidneys.

Carrots

Carrot is an excellent food for weight loss. Raw carrots serve as an healthy snack. Carrots contain a soluble fiber calcium pectane. This fiber helps to lower blood cholesterol levels. They have a very low fat and calorie content. Raw carrots burn up more calories for digestion than that is available in the food. But carrots do not contain all the nutrients that are needed by the body. So they are not suitable for a single food diet. Carrots can used along with other foods.

Tomatoes

Raw tomatoes are an excellent weight loss food. Tomato juice before breakfast or slices of tomatoes with cucumber with a sprinkling of pepper is a great way of losing weight. It boosts metabolism, adds energy and reduces hunger and craving for food.

Onions

Raw onions have oils and minerals that can breakdown fat deposits. They boost metabolism and aid weight loss. They contain vitamins and minerals. They are good for the heart and the circulatory system.

A variety of other raw foods can help to lose weight. Eating raw foods is definitely a way to aid weight loss.
