Natural Antibiotics for Treatment Without Side Effects

Natural antibiotics are substances that are available in nature and have anti bacterial properties. They are widely found in herbal plants. Natural antibiotics have some advantages over chemical antibiotics. Natural antibiotics have no side effects and do not cause drug resistance. There are several natural antibiotics which have been used over the years. Garlic, vitamin C, Colloidal silver and olive leaf extract are some of them.

Garlic

Garlic is an important herb which has anti bacterial properties. It is quite effective as a broad spectrum natural antibiotic. Garlic has an antibiotic called allicin in minute quantities. It is available in raw crushed garlic and destroyed when it is cooked. It is also used for topical applications to kill bacteria. Garlic tea can be prepared by boiling chopped pieces of garlic in water, strained, mixed with honey and lemon juice. It is an effective remedy for sore throat, cough and other infections.

Colloidal Silver

Colloidal silver has been used over the ages to kill bacteria. It can destroy a wide variety bacteria, fungi and viruses. It contains microscopic particles of silver. It is effective against allergies, diarrhea and throat infection. It has no side effects. It is used to treat burns and wounds that may lead to infections. A neem based cream or neem powder can be used. Conjunctivitis can be treated by neem. Drops of tea made from neem leaves can be applied to the eyes. Neem oil is an effective natural antibiotic to treat infection of the mouth, stomach or skin.

Licorice root

Another natural antibiotic is licorice root (glycyrrhizin) used to treat antibiotic resistant infections due to severe burns. It helps the creation of antimicrobial peptides to prevent infection.

Grapefruit seed

Grapefruit seed extract is a natural antibiotic without any side effects. It can be used for both internal and external applications. It is used to treat throat infection, and yeast infection. It is also used to sterilize wounds and skin.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera which is common household plant has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It is used to treat candida infection. It can also heal burns, cold sores rashes, ulcers and burns. A variety of other substances like carob powder, honey, bitter melon and tea tree oil are used as natural antibiotics to fight various ailments.
